Vertical Flow Sedimentation Tank, also named Vertical Sedimentation Tank or Cyclone Sewage Collector, is essential front-end pretreatment equipment for fish pond aquaculture. It is specially used to purify breeding water containing residual feed, fish manure and suspended impurities.
With a round planar tank design, it realizes vertical downward and upward circulating water flow, completes solid-liquid separation through gravity sedimentation and suspension interception, and stably improves inlet water quality for subsequent RAS water treatment systems.
Water containing fish manure and residual feed flows into the tank from the central inlet pipe from top to bottom. An umbrella-shaped baffle at the bottom distributes the water evenly inside the tank, then the water rises slowly along the entire cross-section.
Suspended particles sink into the conical sludge hopper at the tank bottom and form a suspension layer to intercept rising fine impurities. The clarified clean water overflows out through the peripheral weir. A baffle and scum tank are installed in front of the weir to trap floating slag and ensure stable outlet water quality.
A sludge discharge pipe is arranged on one side of the tank wall; sludge is discharged regularly by static water pressure. In the vertical flow tank, the water flow direction is opposite to the particle settling direction. Particles with the same rising speed and settling speed form a stably suspended filtering layer, achieving efficient interception and filtration of tiny impurities.
